Itinerary
- 08:00 – Boat departure from Panajachel heading to San Juan La Laguna (~30 min). Bilingual guide on board with historical context about Tz'utujil culture.
- 08:30 – Natural dye cooperative. Live demonstration of the dye extraction process from plants, insects and minerals. Opportunity to dye your own piece.
- 09:20 – Tour of galleries and murals. Tz'utujil naïf art, lake landscape paintings. Visit to local artist workshops.
- 10:15 – Textile workshop. Women weavers' cooperative with backstrap looms. Explanation of the symbolism in huipiles.
- 11:00 – Navigation to San Antonio Palopó (~35 min). Lunch on board or at a local restaurant based on preference.
- 11:45 – San Antonio Palopó. Village of painted ceramics. Visit to the community project of houses painted with Mayan designs. Panoramic viewpoint.
- 13:15 – Lunch at a restaurant with a view. Traditional Guatemalan cuisine: pepián, jocón or chicken in recado sauce.
- 14:15 – Return to Panajachel by boat (~15 min).
